Spanish travel industry association Exceltur said that about 300,000 homes are offered for short-term rental in the country's 20 largest cities, with some 389,779 rooms managed by hotels. Exceltur, which groups together major Spanish hotel chains, travel agents, tour operators and airlines, is lobbying for a new law to regulate short-term rental platforms such as such as Airbnb, describing the situation as "out of control". An $82 million Palm Jumeirah villa is now the most expensive home ever sold in Dubai. The previous record was set in early April by the sale of a $76.2 million villa, also in Palm Jumeirah. Known as Casa Del Sole, the villa is located on Frond G of the Palm Jumeirah, per Bloomberg. In the exclusive neighborhoods of Palm Jumeirah, Emirates Hills, and Jumeirah Bay Island, only eight new homes are expected to be completed between 2023 and 2025, per Knight Frank. A jail warden and his twin brother have been charged with shooting two migrants, one fatally. The men were arrested Wednesday in Texas, The New York Times reported. Citing court documents, The New York Times reported that two brothers, Michael and Mark Sheppard, were arrested Wednesday. Michael Sheppard was, until this week, a warden at the West Texas Detention Center in Sierra Blanca, Texas, according to the San Antonio Express-News. The detention center is a privately run, federal facility for detained immigrants.

Bed Bath & Beyond is closing around 150 stores and laying off staff. It has now named 56 of the stores set to close across 21 states. By laying off staff and closing the stores, the company said it planned to reduce costs by $250 million in 2022. Sales in the second quarter had slumped roughly 26% compared to the same period in 2021, Bed Bath & Beyond said in preliminary earning results. The struggling retailer has now revealed the location of 56 of the stores being closed, spanning 21 states and Puerto Rico.
